Our History
In April 1999 Profert started as a supplier of basic granular fertilizer bulk blends that were all imported. The founder members and employees were up against tough competition which often was extremely biased towards the bigger role players. There was an extremely small marketing team with little or no technical service support. Profert has now evolved into a supplier of a wide range of quality fertilizers and services and is the 4th biggest supplier of fertilizers in South Africa and owns 20% of the market share (approximately 300 000 tons). It is now one of the leaders in coating granular fertilizer with various inorganic and organic products that improves the efficiency of fertilizers thereby reducing cost and impact on the environment.
